Rough Morning

OK, so after a good night of carbombs, fireworks, foosball, darts, and general carousing I was a bit tired this morning at approximately 7:00 AM. I was, however, up at that moment as Tora had just left for ski practice and I was trying to recover some fluids by putting down a few glasses of water. As soon as I climbed back in bed though, I hear pounding and yelling coming from the other room. I was tempted to ignore it but what the hell i was up so i went to check on the problem. There is some completely random kid at the glass door to the townhouse trying to get in and yelling something incomprehensible. Biggs of course is sleeping soundly three feet from the door on the couch. I opened the door thinking that maybe this deranged kid was an old friend of Biggs or something. This guy quite boldly walks right by me ignoring my inquiries and sits right down on the chair. Right then was when I realized that I was in trouble. Let me describe him. Keep in mind that he was just outside in probably 10 degree weather. He was wearing a button down shirt and jeans, he had one sock and no shoes. He also appeared to be covered in blood at first glance. I realized eventually that this was just marker though, thankfully. I decided that I needed Biggs help as Biggs is huge and a pretty capable guy. When Biggs finally woke up and realized what was going on he helped me get this random dude out of the chair. We were both trying to convince him that he had the wrong townhouse but having absolutely no success. Now that he was standing though he realized that no one was currently on the couch. He immediately dove right on. Biggs and I let out a groan. The dude is a bit more awake now and arguing with us. He quickly came to the realization that Biggs and I did not actually live in this townhouse either. He was then not going anywhere, as we obviously had no right to kick him out. So I wake Ian up to kick this guy out and he finally realized that this was not in fact the townhouse he had meant to go to. He was quite apologetic and as soon as we got him out the door we saw the townhouse he had left with the door wide open. Whhhheeeeww. That was tough. So I just climb back into bed again when BEEEP BEEEP my phone rings. Poor Tora was having trouble with her coach and couldn't go to the practice that day. Then I was so worked up that her coach was a dick that I couldn't sleep for like another hour. Needless to say we both had a rough morning.

Trip to Wisconsin

Hell Yeah, the van to wisconsin left on thursday, november 18 and traveled many many kilometers that weekend. "The Crew" was Sammy, Zippy, Justin, and myself. We cruised all night through canada and parts of the midwest. Before Chicago we almost lost it when we hit "the double blinking arrow" Sammy and Justin who had been driving for hours began to hallucinate heavily and we found ourselves lost in some crappy suburban neighborhood. After a driver change and some public urination we were soon on the way and made it to Milwaukee friday morning. After some sleep at Fix's and a good mid-western breakfast we were ready to hit the Miller Brewery. But Dammit we missed the last tour! Luckily Sam talked them into letting us just hit up the hospitality bar. After our final leg we made it to Eau Claire and cought up with "The Team", Frenchy, Tora, Heather, and Kerry and coaches Newman and Deb were all glad to see us, so were the rest of the SLU alumns, Sammy and Hogan. After a bit the non-runners retired to the bar for some tall tall millers and general good times. There we met famed Pat Gaynor of Run-Insight.com fame. Check out his journal its pretty great. Despite threats of a trip to the local bars we made it to our room in time to get some sleep before the big day. We were up early looking for facepaint and postcards. The postcards were to send to Aaron Todd SLU alum, Bates Director of Sports Misinformation, and general girly man, because he failed to make the trip. If you want his address to send him a post card too i'll get it for you. Anyway we finally found face paint after like an hour and just managed to get into our union suits and gear in time to head off to the race. I almost destroyed Sammy's rental car on the way when the car in front of him decided to slam on their brakes going 50. We did make it though and got to ride on some school bus from the shuttle area to the race. The race was huge!! It was great racing back and forth and cheering for the Saints! Damn I've been typing for a while. Anyway we had a good night of room partying at the Holiday Inn. The trip back was sweet too. I'd tell you about it in detail but I'm tired and watching Undergrads and don't feel like it. Heres the quick version, cheese, fireworks, Sears Tower, deep dish pizza, lost in rochester, home. Pictures to come soon.
